Fundraiser - Oxford

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced fundraiser to help maximise non-statutory income, particularly from charitable trusts, corporations, institutions and individuals.

Areas of Responsibility:
• Develop thorough knowledge and understanding of the charities services to ensure that maximum use is made of fundraising opportunities
• In conjunction with the CEO to develop and maintain fundraising strategy and annual plan
• Develop a range of background material and resources to support applications
• Proactively prospect for new Major Donor, Trust, Corporate and Institutional support
• Under the direction of the CEO to submit applications in advance of deadlines
• To ensure that appropriate feedback and monitoring reports are delivered in a prompt and timely fashion
• To build and nurture fruitful long term relationships with funders and potential funders, including Corporate donors
• To develop and nurture relationships with local individual donors and local groups
• To develop and manage a database of individual donors and local groups, ensuring that best use is made of all communication
• To maximise PR, media and fundraising opportunities associated with other interests of major donors, trusts, corporates and institutions

Essential Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to research and identify potential donors
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills generally, plus an ability to communicate concisely and persuasively
• Ability to understand, prepare and present financial information for funding applications
• Ability to prioritise workload, to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to think creatively and act on own initiative
• Ability to proactively engage people of all backgrounds
• Attention to detail
• Ability to travel to locations around Oxfordshire and surrounding areas

Experience
• Minimum of two years successful fundraising or sales/marketing experience
• Experience of Microsoft Excel and Access
• Experience of producing publicity materials and/or fundraising documents
